No Sex Please... We’re British

Written by: Anthony Marriott and Alistair Foot Directed by: Paul Cousins

Sept. 8, 9, 10, 11, 15, 16, 17 & 18, 2011

A young bride lives above a bank with its assistant manager, her husband Peter, and innocently sends a mail order for some Scandinavian glassware – what comes is Scandinavian pornography!

The plot revolves around the hilarious efforts to conceal the veritable flood of pornographic photographs, books, films, and eventually mail order girls that threaten to engulf this happy couple. Adding to the mayhem are Peter’s mother, his boss, a visiting bank inspector, a police superintendent, and a befuddled best friend

who operates with the best intentions but only ends up creating opposing circumstances. This production entertained audiences in London and on Broadway with its fast paced wit and endless slamming doors!

Survive Another Day

Written by: Ian Bruno Directed by: Tim Marshall

Oct. 20, 21, 22, 23, 27, 28, 29 & 30, 2011

This is the worldwide debut of Survive Another Day written by local playwright and Theatre Windsor member, Ian Bruno. An entirely new genre is created by this playwright – British sex farce meets zombie invasion. David is a respected university professor with a beautiful wife. There’s only one hitch – he has a girlfriend on the side. His friend George tries loyally, albeit under the influence of a great deal of brandy, to keep David’s secret safe. It would be so much easier without policemen, nosy neighbours, and a mindless army of zombies attacking London! The first act will slay you...the second act you may find yourself slain! WARNING: Blood, gunshots, mild language, and hilarity.

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever

Written by: Barbara Robinson Directed by: Bonnie Alarcon

Dec. 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10 & 11, 2011

In this hilarious Christmas tale, a couple struggling to put on a church Christmas pageant is faced with casting the Herdman kids-- probably the most inventively awful kids in history. You won't believe the mayhem-- and the fun-- when the Herdmans collide with the Christmas story head on!

Here on the Flight Path

Written by: Norm Foster Directed by: Dean Valentino

Jan. 26, 27, 28, 29 Feb. 2, 3, 4 & 5, 2012

This hilarious comedy written by Canadian playwright Norm Foster will leave you wanting more. John Cummings is a lonely and divorced back-porch philosopher. As John reflects on his relationships with neighbours Fay, Angel & Gwen, he shares his unique views on everything from poets to sex.

Steel Magnolias

Written by: Robert Harling Directed by: Sean Ireland

Mar. 8, 9, 10, 11, 15, 16, 17 & 18, 2012

The action is set in wise cracking Truvy’s beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana where ‘any lady’ who is ‘anybody’ comes to get her hair done. Along with stylish coifs and the latest hair colours, the outspoken Truvy dispenses ‘free’ advice to an interesting cast of characters. An eager new assistant, an eccentric millionaire, a victim of a raging sweet tooth and a local social leader, M’Lynn, trade hilarious wit until the sudden realization of their own mortality comes to the forefront. The underlying strength and love of the characters for each other gives this play a special quality that makes it a touching and funny story.

Charley’s Aunt

Written by: Brandon Thomas Directed by: Niki Richardson

Apr. 19, 20, 21, 22, 26, 27, 28 & 29, 2012

Jack Chesney loves Kitty Verdun and Charley loves Miss Amy Spettigue. They invite the ladies to meet Charley's wealthy aunt from Brazil, "where the nuts come from". Cancelling her visit at the last minute, the millionaire aunt sends the boys into cataclysmic confusion. What do they do now? The problem is solved by drafting their feckless Oxford undergrad pal into a black satin skirt, bloomers and wig. As "Charley's Aunt", this charming frump is introduced to the ladies, to Jack's father and to Stephen Spettigue, Amy's guardian. When the real aunt turns up, classic comic confusion ensues as Fancourt Babberley, posing as "Charley's Aunt", tricks Spettigue into agreeing to the marriage of his ward, the real aunt marries Jack's father, Jack gets Miss Verdun, and Fanny Babs regains the fortune he lost at gambling as well as the girl he loves.

The Beverly Hillbillies

Created by: Paul Henning Adapted by: David Rogers Directed by: Sue Cousins May 31 June 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9 & 10, 2012

America’s most famous family of hillbillies-perhaps even the First Family of hillbillies-in a delightful and often uproariously funny comedy. You’ll follow them from their simple mountain cabin, where oil is discovered, out to the swank hills of Beverly, where their plain country ways result in considerable hilarity. “Y’all come back now, ya hear!”
