ANNUAL AWARDS NIGHT RECIPIENTS 2009
Theatre Windsor was transformed into an Enchanted Forest recently to celebrate the 5th Annual Theatre Windsor Awards Night Gala.
Guest were surrounded by hundreds of tiny birds, butterflies and fairies peaking amidst the wondrous foliage and lights, adding to the ethereal atmosphere of the evening.
A bridge over a lighted pond delivered each winner to collect their award.
Hosts Veronica Mancini and Sean Ireland kept the comedic flow of the evening and showcased the talented comedic duo of Ian Bruno and Jeff Bastien who had them rolling in the isles with a twisted reprisal of this season's past plays.
More funny moments included Cristina Orlando and John Riehl as Maria and Tito Morelli in Lend Me A Tenor, reciting their own animated rendition of Theatre Windsor's Awards Night Judging Process. Add to that, Terry Ware's humourous rants about each Merit Award Winner: George Turton (Keep on Truckin' Award); Brian Murphy (Shooting Blanks Award); Mark Baker (Are You Sure You're Not Out of the Closet Award); and Paul Cousins (Taking the Break a Leg Too Seriously Award), and you had the makings of a fabulous evening.
Guest feasted on gourmet eats and topped it off with the evening's signature drink: The Enchanted Martini.
A wonderful memorial tribute was given to past members Barb McNeil and Margaret Bracewell by Tom Brophey followed by a heartwarming memorial photo montage to moving music...A fitting tribute to two wonderful ladies indeed.
